Il n'y a pas si longtemps, le tatoueur Steve Myles s'est rendu \u00e0 la convention de Brugge Tattoo et, sans le savoir, il s'agissait de sa toute premi\u00e8re convention.<\/p>

Nous avons pris la libert\u00e9 de lui poser quelques questions et nous avons fini par parler de l'apprentissage, de la signification des tatouages et de bien d'autres choses encore. Voici ce que nous avons appris sur Steve Myles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Avant d'entrer dans le monde du tatouage, Steve \u00e9tait musicien et jouait dans un groupe de post-m\u00e9tal appel\u00e9 Cuda (ou Kuda, nous ne sommes pas exactement s\u00fbrs). Non seulement il jouait dans le groupe, mais ils partaient en tourn\u00e9e ensemble !<\/p>

Ce n'\u00e9tait donc pas la premi\u00e8re fois que Steve se rendait en Belgique. Il y \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 venu, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 Bruxelles et \u00e0 Anvers. Mais comment en est-il venu au tatouage ?<\/strong><\/p>

\u00c0 la fin de son adolescence, il dirigeait une salle de concert punk et avait besoin d'affiches pour ses concerts, alors il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 les dessiner et \u00e0 les concevoir lui-m\u00eame. \u00c0 partir de l\u00e0, il s'est dit qu'il voulait tenter sa chance et il l'a fait, \u00e0 plusieurs reprises, mais il n'est pas all\u00e9 tr\u00e8s loin. Il nous a dit qu'il \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s difficile de percer dans ce secteur et il ne ment pas.<\/p>

Heureusement, sa partenaire Tasha Wild (cliquez ici pour voir son interview) \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans le m\u00e9tier depuis 10 ans. Lorsqu'elle a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 qu'il \u00e9tait temps pour elle d'ouvrir un magasin, ils ont fait \u00e9quipe. Steve a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 l'installation et Tasha lui a appris \u00e0 tatouer !<\/p>

Selon ses propres termes, c'\u00e9tait plut\u00f4t d\u00e9contract\u00e9.<\/p>

Il a commenc\u00e9 par installer et d\u00e9corer le magasin et, une fois que cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait, Tasha et lui sont pass\u00e9s directement \u00e0 la partie \u2018apprendre \u00e0 tatouer\u2019 de l'apprentissage.<\/p>

Steve a reconnu qu'il avait eu beaucoup de chance au cours de son apprentissage et qu'il savait que tout le monde n'avait pas eu la vie aussi \u2018facile\u2019. Il a ajout\u00e9 qu'il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 entendu des histoires de la part d'apprentis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Parce qu'il a commenc\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re non conventionnelle, il n'\u00e9tait pas vraiment s\u00fbr d'avoir quelque chose \u00e0 ajouter \u00e0 ce que disent ses coll\u00e8gues, alors il l'a r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9 et nous a dit : dessinez beaucoup, faites-vous tatouer beaucoup... et frappez-vous la t\u00eate jusqu'\u00e0 ce que quelque chose fonctionne.<\/p>

Nous savons que cela semble difficile lorsqu'il n'y a pas de directives strictes comme c'est le cas pour les professions pour lesquelles vous pouvez aller \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9, mais si vous partez de l\u00e0, vous finirez par trouver quelque chose qui fonctionnera.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Aurait-il un jour un r\u00f4le de mentor aupr\u00e8s de quelqu'un d'autre ?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

En ce qui concerne l'embauche d'un apprenti, Steve nous a dit qu'il ne voulait pas \u00eatre un mentor avant d'avoir atteint ses 10 ans dans l'industrie... et Dieu merci !<\/p>

Ce n'est pas parce qu'il est un mauvais artiste, ce n'est pas du tout ce que nous disons, au contraire, son travail est \u00e9pique ! C'est juste que... beaucoup d'artistes prennent quelqu'un comme apprenti avant m\u00eame d'avoir ma\u00eetris\u00e9 leur propre talent. Alors, bravo \u00e0 lui.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Signification des tatouages et m\u00e9dias sociaux<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nous avons demand\u00e9 \u00e0 Steve s'il pensait que les tatouages devraient avoir une signification, une question \u00e0 un million de dollars si vous voulez notre avis.<\/p>

Il est assez tatou\u00e9 et, d'apr\u00e8s ce qu'il nous a dit, seuls deux de ses deux premiers tatouages avaient une signification importante. En fait, il \u00e9tait obs\u00e9d\u00e9 par leur signification.<\/p>

Par la suite, il a adopt\u00e9 l'\u00e9tat d'esprit suivant : \u2018Si j'aime \u00e7a, il suffit de le mettre quelque part\u2019. Mais il n'y a pas non plus de r\u00e8gles strictes et, selon lui, tout d\u00e9pend de la personne.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nous lui avons ensuite demand\u00e9 son avis sur les m\u00e9dias sociaux<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Il nous a dit qu'il se contentait d'une vid\u00e9o et d'une photo par jour (nous devons dire que cela fonctionne pour lui), mais qu'il essayait de s'en tenir l\u00e0. Steve nous a confi\u00e9 que, selon lui, cela n'est bon pour personne en termes de sant\u00e9 mentale et de confiance en soi.<\/p>

Surtout si vous \u00eates une personne cr\u00e9ative, car il est tr\u00e8s facile de se laisser prendre au jeu des comparaisons. Il a dit que c'\u00e9tait une \u2018recette pour \u00eatre malheureux\u2019. Ce n'est pas tr\u00e8s gentil, mais il s'est ralli\u00e9 \u00e0 ce que disent d'autres artistes : on ne peut pas s'en passer. Si vous faites du tatouage, il vous faut un Instagram.<\/p>

Steve a \u00e9galement abord\u00e9 un tr\u00e8s bon point : l'algorithme et tout ce qui vous permet d'obtenir de la visibilit\u00e9 sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 difficiles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
